Refrigerant Recharge — R22 & R410A
An air conditioner low on refrigerant can’t cool your home, freezes its own coils, and works itself to death trying. We recharge both R22 and R410A systems across Greater Cleveland — and we check why the charge was low in the first place.
Signs your system is low on refrigerant
- AC blows air that’s cool but never cold
- Ice on the copper lines or evaporator coil
- System runs constantly without reaching temperature
- Hissing or bubbling sounds near the unit
- Rising electric bills with worse cooling
Both refrigerants, all systems
We stock and charge both R22 and R410A. That matters: R22 systems (most units installed before 2010) are still everywhere in Northeast Ohio’s housing stock, but many companies refuse to service them and push a full replacement instead. If your older system is otherwise healthy, a proper recharge can be the honest, economical fix.
A recharge should come with answers
Refrigerant doesn’t get “used up” — if it’s low, it went somewhere. Along with the recharge we inspect the system so you understand its condition and options. The diagnostic is free when you hire us for the work; if you choose not to proceed, only the flat $60 travel/service fee applies.
Straight talk on R22
Because R22 is no longer produced, recharging it costs more than R410A — and on some systems a repair-plus-recharge is still far cheaper than replacement, while on others it isn’t. We’ll give you the honest math for your unit, not a sales pitch. That’s the “honest pricing, no surprises” promise our reviews keep mentioning.

Refrigerant Recharge questions
Can you still recharge R22 systems?
Yes. We charge both R22 and R410A and service all systems. R22 costs more because it’s no longer manufactured, and we’ll tell you honestly whether recharging your unit is worth it before any work begins.
How do I know if my AC uses R22 or R410A?
The nameplate on your outdoor unit lists the refrigerant type; systems installed before roughly 2010 typically use R22. If you’re not sure, we identify it during the diagnostic visit.
